Ibagaza Signs For Villarreal

The switch, worth €1.5m, sees 'El Caño' return to the mainland for the first time since ending his three-year spell with Atlético Madrid back in 2003.The 31-year-old midfielder worked his way up through the Lanús youth system in his native Argentina, debuting with the first team all the way back in 1994.He joined Mallorca in 1998, enjoying a fruitful, five-season spell with the Barralets before making his way to the Spanish capital.The playmaker later returned to Mallorca and was appointed as captain.It is thought that he will take on a squad player role at the Madrigal as the Yellow Submarine look to steel themselves for Champions League involvement.
